Rebuilding Lives Together This Holiday Season

Join Us in Rebuilding Lives
Monday, November 22, 2021

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place on November 30, 2021. In this season of giving thanks and spreading cheer, please consider sharing hope with those in our community, recovering from life-altering challenges caused by injury or disease. By making a donation this Giving Tuesday, you will join REHAB in rebuilding the lives of these patients—supporting them through their time of greatest need.

Share a gift of hope today

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we are sharing the stories of three members of our REHAB community and how they are making a difference in support of REHAB’s mission of rebuilding lives together.

Caitlin is an inpatient physical therapist at REHAB. She supports patients who need to stay in the hospital for rehabilitative care. For Caitlin, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing how much her patients progress from their first day to their last and helping them return to their homes safely after experiencing illness or injury. Growing up in Hawaii, Caitlin is happy to give back to her hometown community.

Lynn is a breast cancer survivor. She participates in REHAB’s ‘iCare’: a program that works with cancer survivors in one-on-one exercise-based rehabilitation to help improve their quality of life after experiencing disabling side effects from cancer treatments. Lynn has seen tremendous progress during her own participation in REHAB’s iCare, Hawaii’s only cancer rehabilitation exercise program. Lynn is grateful that she can give back to other cancer survivors by joining iCare’s cancer research study.

Toby is REHAB’s Chief Canine Officer. Through puppy snuggles and tail wags, Toby cares for our patients’ mental and emotional well-being in ways that traditional therapy cannot. In REHAB’s animal assisted therapy program, Toby brings four-legged joy and a sense of hope to patients who are often in pain or experiencing a sense of loss from their injuries and the challenges of recovery.

For those who help to share hope with our patients this Giving Tuesday, we will send you a Toby sticker as a small token of appreciation*.
