Honoring Inclusion: REHAB Celebrates 36 Years of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Monday, August 17, 2026

In honor of the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), REHAB Hospital of the Pacific hosted a week-long celebration from July 27th to July 31st. Organized by REHAB’s Belonging Team, these initiatives help enhance advocacy, foster community and support the rights of individuals with disabilities.

ADA Anniversary Advocacy & Vendor Fair

Held at REHAB Hospital of the Pacific, this event brought community members, vendors and advocates together. Attendees connected with local resource providers, explored adaptive recreation and independent living tools, learned about health and accessibility, and discovered essential advocacy and support services.

Mahalo to everyone who participated, shared resources and helped make this celebration a success! By sharing vital community resources, showcasing adaptive recreation and independent living tools, and promoting health, wellness and accessibility, you directly empowered our patients and local community.

Pilina in Practice: Beyond Awareness in Inclusive Care

Our team gathered for an inspiring guest speaker Ann Yoshida, OTD. Yoshida shared valuable insights on "Pilina in Practice," focusing on how staff can deliver empowering care that helps patients rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. These activities highlighted REHAB’s commitment to rebuilding lives and advancing inclusion both within our facility and across the broader community.
